Over the past 20 years, Jennifer has excelled in both inpatient and outpatient settings providing diabetes education and nutrition expertise.
Her work experience includes Chief Clinical Dietitian at  Decatur General Hospital and as an outpatient Clinical Dietitian for Durham  Regional  Hospital, a member of the Duke University Health System.

Jennifer worked as a project manager with the NIDDK Information Clearinghouse and travelled the country promoting the work performed by this organization. She has also served as the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) liaison for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and represented the National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse (NDIC) as a guest speaker at the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) annual conference.
She managed a grant funded outpatient diabetes education program at Annie Penn Hospital, a member of the Moses Cone Health System. Three years ago, Jennifer started her private nutrition practice, Dietz Nutritional Consulting, LLC, in Danville, VA
Jennifer is a Registered Dietitian through the Commission for Dietetic Registration, a Certified Diabetes Educator through the National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators and holds a Master's Degree in Public Health. She is also an insulin pump trainer with Roche (maker of the Accu-check Spirit insulin pump system). She is a nutrition consultant for businesses, group homes, and boarding schools. Jennifer is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
